This is oil and water. Notice how the two do not mix, and therefore cannot cooperate well. This represents the relation between the two feuding families, the Montagues and the Capulets. The two do not mix well, and they simply cannot be together. Oil and water are equivalent to the relationship of the Capulet and the Montagues families since they have a complicated relationship, and do not do well when near each other.

This is a really good analogy. I have never thought about how their differences are the reason why they cannot unify.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your image and I think it's a really clever way to demonstrate the Montague-Capulet feud / how they can't get along at all.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great analogy.
ReplyDeleteI love this analogy. Although I hope that after the death of Juliet and Romeo the feud will finally end, this analogy with water and oil is a great way to demonstrate how the families will never get along. I also love the symbolic meaning that the families will never mix and were not meant to. This clearly shows how Romeo and Juliet were brought together by fate, but their families were never meant to unify.
