The One Without a Name
It all started with a game,
The one without a name.
I played it with some friends,
There seemed to be no end.
We jumped and ran, mindless fun.
My heart was racing, like it had heard the gun.
We were alive, with the energy that only youth and foolishness can bring,
But what happened next, changed everything.
It was my brother, with a weak shot.
The birdie hit the soft green grass, and on came the onslaught.
Everyone dove...with my racket I reached!
Alas, my privacy was breached.
Tali, who was unfortunately named, as she was quite short,
Decided to make the game, into a contact sport.
She was going for the birdie, or so she claims.
Instead, she made my thumb burst into flames.
I had never felt pain so great.
I hope that you can never relate.
I shed oh so many tears that day,
So much that I made a vow,
That I will ultimately,
Make Tali…
PAY.

This is really funny! I like the rhyme scheme and the formatting of the last line. Nice Job!
ReplyDeleteThis poem would have been better if you wrote it about rocket league because realistically that's the only sport you play! :D
ReplyDeleteI really like the rhyming and humor in this poem! I also liked how the poem told a story and the formatting of the ending was cool!
ReplyDeleteGood job not giving away what the game was called, it adds an air of mystery. Also I like how you explained how you were feeling so your audience could feel like they were there in the moment.
