Circus of the Unheard

Circus of the Unheard

They are heard,
Yet not listened to,
They pretend to be somebody else,
Yet for the wrong reasons,

Those people who were not able to blend in,
Those in which are provoked to stand out,
Not willingly they transpire,
Not willingly they hold their last thread of dignity & reputation and set on the table,
For others to take it,
To rip it apart,
And to control it.

Not willingly they are forced to stand out,
To be the black rose in a beautiful red rosy bouquet,
To be the unwanted sun in a mesmerizing night sky.

Goofy, silly, comical, weird,
All traits we see.
Serious, kind, smart, charismatic,
All traits they want us to see.

Yet they are looked at as a circus act,
In which they believe is the only way to get noticed.
They fear less of exploiting their pride,
And more on being a nobody,

They wished we listened,
They wished they could be themselves,

But we never gave them a chance.

  1. I really liked how you compare people who are not heard to a circus, and not being taken seriously, only seen as comical and weird. There were a lot of good metaphors and a good message.

  2. I like the comparison between the circus and people who are not treated fairly but as strangers.
