I don’t pay attention to the
World ending
It has ended for me
Many times
And begins again in the Morning.
I was so careless
Blindsided
And ungrateful
You were always there for me
But I can’t say the same for myself
I was never hurt because
You were always there to save me
I ask myself
Where was I when you were in trouble?
Your promises were so strong that
Even the end of the world couldn’t break them
But when it came to my promises
Even a touch of a stranger made them
Fall apart.
You deserve someone better
Someone that I can never be
I let you go because I love you
I can’t do anything other than
To drag you down
Till you drown
I would rather
Let you go and live
Then drag you down with me
I show nothing but carelessness towards you
So let me make things right
By letting you go.

Interesting poem! I like that it's kind of vague because it kind of lets you imagine the situation and make your own speculations about it. Your second to last stanza is amazing- it's probably my favorite part.
ReplyDeleteGreat poem! I love how mysterious it is, while at the same time vague. It really put things into my perspective, such as if I had ever gone through this situation before. I additionally loved how you ended the poem, with the one line.
