I can not be defined by the things that I have done,
Or the things I will do,
But I will be defined by the fact that I am me,
I will not be defined by my my accomplishments or what I can do,
Like a toy to show off,
But I can be defined by who I am,
I am not defined by my friends or family,
Or who I know,
But I am who I am,
I will not be defined by who I was or who you think I will be,
You cannot know who I am by looking at my book cover,
But you can define me by the fact that I know who I am,
And that is who I am.
Great poem! I especially like the 3rd to last line, and I thought it was really inspirational. The repetition that you used helped convey your point well.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very clear, concise, and empowering poem. I really liked how you mentioned that you are not defined by your past or your future, but by who you are now, and I definitely relate to, and encourage that.
ReplyDeletei like that your poem has one keep point and that is that your are you
ReplyDeleteI really like how you compared people that are defined by what they can do to a toy. It worked out really well.
